February 23, 1989. It was a Thursday evening in the dormitories that were collectively known as Serrano Village on the campus of Cal State University, San Bernardino. I had been on the phone with Katie, a girl in Oregon who I was in love with. She told me about her complicated life. After my phone call with Katie, this guy, José Osio, who lived in my dorm, talked me into drinking with him and his friends & frat brothers.

We went over to Morongo dorm where they were serving up a mixture of gin and this sports drink called Super Socco. From what I hear, using Super Socco as a mixer with gin was fairly common at the time. Some people enjoyed it. I thought it was a horrendous combination... but I did drink quite a bit of it that night.

After a while at Morongo, we walked over to the pub on campus where a live band was playing. The band was called East Meets West. We listened to the band's set, then meandered back over to Morongo. By the time we got back there, I was feeling funky. The rest of the night remains a blur, but the point is, that was my first time drinking with José. There would be many more times to come. Thanks Super Socco!

Remember enjoying this drink after playing sports. Once I got older gin and Super Socco was the best! Glad you are bringing it back and I hope it gets to Southern California!

I was a great fan of Super Socco in Southern California in the 1990s. After a long weekend bike ride, I very much looked forward to a tall glass of Super Socco with chips. I was very sad when Super Socco was no longer available. It was such a remarkable unique taste that is unmatched. I hope to once again experience the wonderful taste of Super Socco in Southern California. I wish you all the best in bringing the product back to California. Good luck.

I have a very similar recollection. That was what my friend Rob was drinking in ‘92/‘93 while the rest of us had 40’s. I remember him pouring enough of the yellow juice out for the gin to fit and, when he gave me a sip I thought, “dang, this stuff ain’t so bad!” But, truth be told, “gin ‘n’ super socco is the shiznit!” Yeah, I’m a supporter. ✌

Back in the day, I use to drink Super Socco while eating my spicy pork rinds. It was THE BEST drink. My husband and I sometimes think about how good it was. My Jingle for this wonderful drink is "It's Super Socco, don't you know? It steals the show wherever it goes. It's Super Socco!!!" It will be such a treat to have this drink back in my life, especially since I don't drink soda. THANKS!!!

I used to go down to the pool on hot summer days with my friends, and we always got drinks there. I remember Super Socco being my favorite. I have fond memories of it and I’m glad it is coming back.

Back in the day a friend’s dad was the Super Socco rep for Manitoba. Thanks to that my friend would bring it to our sporting events. I loved it. The original flavour over ice is still one of the best tasting drinks I have ever had.

Just the other day I was discussing sports drinks with my son who is a hockey player and told him about Super Socco. On a whim I looked it up out of curiosity and found your site. I was shocked and thrilled that it’s coming back. can’t wait till it rolls out again it’s a great drink and is already bringing back a lot of memories.
